Oh man, am I going to miss Jonboy Meyers when he leaves (I think he is still around for issue #02), ’cause the visuals are off the hook!
We start from right where we left off, with Starfire, Kid Flash, Raven, and Beast Boy at Damian’s mercy…
…and then we get one of the best establishing moments of Damian. The story is centered around Robin’s motivation (more or less) to bringing the Teen Titans, which is a mixture of loneliness, a small tribute to Tim Drake, and a whole lot of ego (there is also a hidden reason, but I don’t want to spoil it for you).
The creative team of Benjamin Percy and Jonboy Meyers have decided to go with an over-the-top aesthetic with the series and it works so well, especially with the luscious colors and drawing style that match with the pretty batshit (pun, possibly intended) storyline that is being promised.
There are so many good things to say about this comic, it oozes fun and crazyness and just a yearning to be free, there is so much that it is better to just go read it than try and make sense of it all.
Basically, I felt good after reading this comic, and am sure you will too – Five Thwips and a Hell Yeah for the Teen Titans!
