Thwip! Watch is all about what goes on our screens, namely TV. Whether CW or Fox or NBC or what-have-you, you can be sure that we here at Thwip! have been watching it. Today we are going to talk about DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
For those of you who have been following my bloggeries about this series know that I have been fond of it for the most part.
But I have to admit, this episode might be a bit too goofy (in the bad way).
The first thing is Damian Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn who are so cartoonish, they kind of remind me of Dick Dastardly and Muttley (which is ironic considering they are Warner Bros. properties, so maybe it is on purpose?) Then we have Eobard Thawne, who is also a weird cowardly idiot, makes me wish that they got Tom Cavanagh to be Reverse Flash instead of Matt Letscher (no offense guy, but my Reverse Flash is Cavanagh in the end).
Anyways, these three guys are goofy as hell together.
(also these guys are so hilariously white, when they start staring at each other it looks like they are in one of those Fun Houses)
Then we have the time crew who are quite literally idiots. They do nothing, literally nothing, letting Stein do the heavy (brain) work and the drama as well. They are so stupid that when they are trying to find out more about speedsters…THEY DON’T GO TO THE RESIDENT SPEEDSTER! They pick up Stein’s daughter who is in Central City (where, for those of you who don’t remember for some reason, IS WHERE THE FLASH LIVES) and they could have said, “hey Barry, you ever heard of the Reverse-Flash? He seems like kind of a dick.”
Anyways, the best Legends of Tomorrow episodes are those where you are enjoy the rollicking weirdness of the episode without worrying about the story-telling, but this time that kind of failed and so all the bad story-telling kind of piled up into a noticeable mess.
