Thwip! Watch is all about what goes on our screens, namely TV. Whether CW or Fox or NBC or what-have-you, you can be sure that we here at Thwip! have been watching it. Today we are going to talk about DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Legends of Tomorrow proves that it doesn’t have to be good to enjoy your time.
This show is awful, mainly being cheesy and goofy as hell, but at the same time they seem to be having so much fun that you can’t help but enjoy the shenanigans.
It really is shenanigans – this episode has them hunting for J.R.R. Tolkien (for spurious reasons, it really doesn’t matter why, just enjoy the ride).
The other good thing about the show is that these characters really have good interactions with each other, over-the-top as hell, but when Mick (Heatwave) talks to Snart (Captain Cold) you get engrossed in their conversation and wonder what is going to happen next.
That’s the thing about Legends of Tomorrow – you want to know what happens next, and that’s a high compliment.
As for this episode in particular – it has a great mid-episode twist and finally deals with Mick Rory and his issues with the Legends. Like I said, this show really is all about how characters interact with each other and how they deal with their issues with Mick (and the other myriad of issues that come up throughout the episode) is actually quite good (a bit comic book-y, but that seems kind of obvious that that would happen).
I am still enjoying the show, I hope you do as well.
