Thwip! Watch is all about what goes on our screens, namely TV. Whether CW or Fox or NBC or what-have-you, you can be sure that we here at Thwip! have been watching it. Today we are going to talk about DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Ah time travel, why you always gotta be so confusing?
So after last week’s fairly goofy episode, we have this very dramatic (but still ultimately goofy episode), where our Legends end up being time aberrations as they try to go back in time to change the future so that the present is different.
This episode runs completely on the rule of shock and awe – especially considering in the first ten minutes we get the first shock of the episode…and it keeps going from there (also, have I mentioned that Ray Palmer’s suit looks like a Robocop cosplay?). Anyways, Heatwave is still racking up his awesome streak as they finally let him take center stage properly and run the show. Other than that, there are such nice moments of hilarity that it balances out the over-dramatic cheesiness.
The Legion of Doom are of course brilliantly Dick Dastardly-esque to such levels that it feels that Warner Bros. are really in love the idea of crossing over DC with their own cartoon properties (I expect to see Legends in the newest iteration of Wacky Races eventually). Well except for Leonard Snart, that dude is ice cold (pun intended)…
Also, this series reminded me, I need to watch The Goonies one day.
One more thing, Gideon was too giddy explaining that the time storm done fucked them up…
