Thwip! Watch – iZombie S03E04 – “Wag the Tongue Slowly”

Thwip! Watch is all about what goes on our screens, namely TV. Whether CW or Fox or NBC or what-have-you, you can be sure that we here at Thwip! have been watching it. Today we are going to talk about iZombie.

A run of the mill episode that is just solid iZombie-craft.

The thing about TV is that sometimes it tries too hard. It has to be bigger, bolder, and more interesting to keep its audience captive…but sometimes, you just gotta maintain some good consistency.

That’s what iZombie has been doing for the past couple of episodes. This episode has your usual mystery of the week (it was kind of fun), lots of soap opera/character development and just lets loose on the audience.

The mystery is so-so, kind of the usual irreverent fun that the show is being known for. Despite the mystery-aspect of the series, it really is just them making fun of police procedurals, which I have a fondness for (I did watch all of CSI afterall…all of it)…and is chock full of that CW soap-opera that people are used to (the soap opera is a bit too typical in this episode though…but that has more to do with them trying to juggle too many character dynamics, once they streamline it will work itself out).

Anyways, good episode, nothing spectacular to write home about though, viva the Zombies.

The one thing I would like to mention though is that they finally confirmed Olivia is an actual Doctor…I have no idea how, since she hadn’t finished her internship before she zombified, but whatever, at least I got that confirmation, it was bothering me for these past three seasons.
