Thwip! Watch is all about what goes on our screens, namely TV. Whether CW or Fox or NBC or what-have-you, you can be sure that we here at Thwip! have been watching it. Today we are going to talk about Arrow.
A very oddly comedic episode thanks to Mr. Terrific’s weird youthful naivete, but besides some very ham-fisted story-telling, there was some decent drama in another filler episode.
So yeah, this episode is kind of a bottle episode, forcing Oliver and Felicity to confront each other properly for the first time ever since…well their breakup it looks like. It actually is a good confrontation, but some seriously terrible writing (that doesn’t seem to make sense, but that’s ’cause I am going to admit that it is the acting that really sells the emotional beats of the bad writing [the keyword for this episode is “trust”…I think everyone says it at least seven times]).
The plot itself is of course some weird nonsense…the main reason I call it nonsense is because I DO NOT GET WHAT ADRIAN CHASE/PROMETHEUS WANTS! It’s some weird head game that makes no sense on any level.
At least the comedy is on point, with everyone being on their game with their quips and jokes and japes – made me miss the less dark times of the series.
Let’s put this season to bed, ’cause they are just playing for time now.
